Bangladesh is a delta with many rivers. It also has an abundant supply of underground water. In fact, 75% of the total water requirement of city water supply system and irrigation is met with underground water. Hence DTW's are consistently constructed through out Bangladesh.
Sigma & Associates, a concern of Sigma group is founded in 2003. Over the last six years, it has grown into one of the leading Deep Tube Well contractors of the country. In Bangladesh, the soil is predominantly alluvial. Therefore, both direct water jet and reverse water circulation methods are used for boring Deep Tube Wells. Also casing pipes and chemicals are used to encounter cave-in which is very common in Bangladesh soil conditions. Sigma has the expertise in boring through alluvial soil using cutters of diameters 700 mm or even more and up-to depth of 350 meters to construct DTW's of yield capacity 200-350 m3/hr.
Till now Sigma & Associates has constructed and commissioned more than 1000 numbers of DTW's throughout Bangladesh. A good number of these have been constructed in the difficult southern coastal belt.
